jhautz,

I run A mamba 5700 and 4600 in a HPI MT2 with 3s (5lbs). The mamba motors do get pretty hot, but they really move. Of course I am geared for 40-45mph with 4600 and 50-55mph with 5700. I have a small heatsink/fan on the motor which seems to keep temps reasonable. A larger or maybe a more efficient motor (like to try a 1920 in mine) may be better in the heavy rig with 3s.

Thanks for the input guys. Sounds like the mamba can do the job, but its getting to the edge of the capabilities.

I'll probably just start with the Feigao 9L Ialready have and run it on the QUark 80B and 4s A123. It motor RPM wount be what you are running, but it should allow me to do some significant gearing up.

What gearing are you runnig with those mambas? The gear ratios in this thing are wierd. 13/40 for the diffs and a 54T spur. The RCUniverse review of this thing said they were getting passes at 45 mph in the stock nitro form. so with the stock 12T pinion they were gettin 32Krpm out of that nitro motor. Either that or they were getting some tire balloning to help with that speed.

I figure getting this thing up to 45-50 should be fairly easy. Its just going to be a little beater truck to goof off with and maybee run some laps at the track. Theres no class to race it, but I will ask and see if the will let me run with the 1/10 electrics or nitros. Most likely not though. Maybee with the CRT.5's???

I may run it for a while as a nitro. I have too many projects going right now to start another one right away, but I'll get to it sometime. Besides, I have never taken a truck I used to run in nitro and converted it so I had something to compare it too when it was finished.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
