Having the weight off balance that much will still affect performance. How much, I don't know.

Have you tried running a Revo with the batteries offset? I have at least 20 bash runs and probably 10 hours of track time on this set up so far and I can't tell any difference from when I had it as a nitro model or any balance difference from my E-Maxx. Like I said before, I'm not the first to try it this way. The main advantage (and the original reason I went this way) was I don't want to deal with two lipo packs when I switch. I'll be going to a 4S set up in a single cell. If you want to make two trays and deal with two batteries, have at it.
