Programing MM for speed

hi ive never really played about with the programing on my MM any more than the lipo cut of does anyone that has have any advice on how to best program it for speed runs? obvisly anything that would keep the temprature down would also help.

If you're doing speed runs, I'm assuming that means that you're running higher voltage and taller gearing. With a higher top RPM available, that means the throttle trigger will be more "sensitive". In order to make it less "sensitive" (not the proper term, but you probably understand), you can increase punch control.

Assuming you're geared higher, it's going to take more effort to get the motor moving from a dead stop. If that's the case, you can increase start power to give more reliable starts.

You could play around with the timing a bit, as increasing timing will cause higher RPMs, but make sure you watch the temps closely if you do increase the timing.

You could try to depress the early part of the throttle curve and possibly increase the latter part?

Sounds like a good reason for a radio with an exponential throttle option. I know the Spektrum DX3.0 (not the old DX3) has this, but I'm sure other higher-end radios have this as well.

That is what i was trying to say. Create an exponential curve instead of a linear one. Or do it the easy way and change your radio.

But does the MM's throttle curve correspond to the throttle input (trigger travel), or is it a way to program a form of punch control?

DO a soft throttle curve. Watch your temps too. And this should go in the MM forum btw.

IIRC, it draws it based on % travel for the brakes and the thr. I drew an exp curve for both the brk and thr. Its esp helpful w/the brakes as they tend to be so strong. I was having to turn them down to 5% on my radio before I programmed the esc to not endo. When I did the manual brakes, I could not find an off setting, so I just drew the brk line flat @ 0.

Also, if you want to help keep the heat down, set timing to 0*
