crap, I went ahead and mounted the maxx tranny (single speed), and discovered that I neglected the fact that the tranny was not aligned with the diffs... the slider shafts hit the alum chassis before it can be secured to the tranny outputs.

I don't really know what to do now, besides bending or grinding away some of the chassis... It won't weaken the chassis at all (the indents where the slider joints occupy), but there is not even 1cm of shaft inside of the other for holding each other together (shaft sliders).
