No it won't. The back of the Lehner motors have the weld marks that would short the motor out if the clamp was attached. Thanks for the idea though.

It would work. Use washers under the bolt heads instead of the cross bar.

The RCM clamp still uses the motor screw holes to hold the motor on the motor mount so if the screw holes are stripped it wount help.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Could you remove the end cap and re-tap the threads? It seems like it would work...

I'd have to go with cemetery gates, pop the end off and tap them to 4mm, any chance that might work? I know some of the larger can motors already run 4mm screws, why not yours too.

Thinking crazy, I've seen very small helicoils work on a huge number of things. If they'll hold nitro funny car heads on I'd have to believe that they'll hold a brushless motor in place??

The heat sink won't work unless I don't understand how it goes on. Do you not put one end of the heat sink between the motor and the motor mount? You just use longer screws? If I am wrong let me know. I am just looking at the picture in the RCM store. That would hold the end cap it self on. The end cap motor mount screw holes are fine. The end cap it self screws into the motor body. Those are the threads that are stripped. Not the mount screws hole threads. I might see if there is enough metal left to make new threads but it looked like the metal was gone so no chance of using a die to make new threads.

Maybe I am not explaining things right. As an example look up at What’s_nitro’s avatar picture. This is an LMT motor. The end were the motor shaft comes out of the motor is a purple end cap. On the purple end cap in this picture is drilled 6 motor mount screw holes. My motor has 8 motor mount screw holes. All 8 of these screw holes are fine. It’s the purple end cap that is broken. The purple end cap screws itself into the black motor body. That’s where the threads are located that are stripped. I can pull that purple end cap off and mount it up fine but the motor will not screw onto the end cap. Because I can’t get the motor screwed onto the end cap I can’t run the truck. I hope this clears up any confusion on my part. Thanks What’s_nitro for your picture!!!
