I am very excited - just won an ebay auction for a LMT 1930/6.

I am going to throw this into my CRT.5 and see what it can do.

I was a little concerned because it seems like the motor might be a little on the hot side for 3S - I would've prefered the 1930/7 or 1930/8 - but hey it's a Lehner and what can ya do!?!?!

Currently running 17/48 with the Hacker B50/8 (3019 kv unloaded) with 3S and 4S and a MM esc. Temps are great now that I got the CC BEC installed and I'm not using the MM bec. Motor: 110-120 / ESC: 120 - 130.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a starting point for battery and gearing?

Was thinking with this motor that I could even throw my 2S TrakPower pack for a lazy sunday drive ;) The Hacker was just a little on the boring side with 2S.

IMO, the 6t is perfect for 3s Lipo. In fact, I have a Neu 1509 1Y (3600 kv)ordered, and it will be run on 3s Lipo.

For driving on a 1/10 track with 3s Lipo, a 14t pinion on the stock spur would be good, for ~30mph.

I was actually watching that auction with the Lehner. I just knew that someone form this forum would buy it. It seems people from here buy ever high end BL motor off ebay.

Re the gearing: That's good to hear - I e-mailed the guy selling it and he said he was running it in a CRT.5 but it ran hot (around 160-170) with 12, 14 and 16 gearing.

I didn't find out what esc or batteries he was using though - I've found with the MM (and the Mamba25 for that matter) that Low start power and Lowest timing is really the way to go as far as motor heat goes - anything more and things get hot.

I spoke with CC support for a while one day and the guy told me that timing advance on a brushless motor is somewhat irrelevant as any gain made by increasing timing is nothing more than a few percent in speed. The best suggestion was to control speed with gearing and not timing - since I started doing that with the MM and the Mamba25 I have not had really any heat issues with either esc or any motors, unless I am overgearing.

Great buy. I have that exact motor too. I run it in my Lightning stadium 10 on either 3s2p a123 or 4s1p a123. It will be perfect for you on 3s lipos in a CRT.5 A helasiuosly powerfull little motor. I actually reconfigured the sloder on the back of the motor and made it into a 10 turn 1930 and ran it in my 1/8 buggy on 5s for a while. It even ripped in a big truck like that as long as I kept the gearing reasonable.

I love Lehners. They just run and dont ask questions. Let us know how you like it.

I have a 1930/7 and it rips on 3S. I actually wanted a 1930/6 to be honest, but the 7 works fine too. You'll be quite happy with the 6 - they aren't TOO different...

Hopefully I'll get the motor by the weekend and get the chance to test it out. I'll let you know how it goes.

Have to fix a snapped turnbuckle on a front upper arm before I'm going anywhere with the CRT.5. It snapped over the weekend when I threw 4S into it.

I am having way too much fun with this little buggy

I am amzed it isn't in pieces by now the way it's been getting beaten up.

Nice score... I was watching it too.

I run a Lehner Basic XL size motor in my crt.5 on only 2s and its rips! No shortage of power in these motors. The 1930 should make your crt.5 into a beast.

Just got the Lehner in the mail today.

I love Lehner.

Installed it tonight and boy what a difference from the Hacker. I only drove it around the house, but WOW

this thing has got some power. Rather than use the bullet connectors I hard soldered wires into the connectors.

Can't wait to try it outdoors this weekend, but it's supposed to be a rainy weekend.

I love Lehners!!!!!

Took out the CRT.5 for a run today and the difference was very noticeable. Pulling off the line and on-throttle power was great.

On 3S definitely faster than before (same gearing 17/48 as with the Hacker). With the 4S 4000mAh MaxAmps pack it was rediculous - I couldn't keep the front end on the ground at full throttle no matter how slow I ramped up the speed.

I don't know what the guy I got the motor from was runing his CRT.5, but both motor and esc temp were in the 110 - 120* range with both 3s and 4s through 3 full battery packs in the period of an hour or so.

The motor is soooo smooth powering-up and braking. No puchiness at all like the Hacker. I haven't tried a Neu motor yet but I wonder if they are the same.

Yes, I have to agree. My Lehner is very smooth all the way through the powerband. 3S on pavement results in CRAZY wheelies at just about any speed. I'm honestly somewhat afraid of trying 4S lol...

BP - With your flightpowers I am sure you are getting better voltage under load than I am - my voltage is about 10.4v with the 3s under full accel load.

Any pics of how you are mounting the flightpowers? I didn't get them because of the way that the two wires come out of each side and couldn't figure out the best way to mount them without crushing the lower wire.
