All the suggestions here are good, but i'd like to throw a lowball highend setup. The JR synthetic crystal radios (the XS3 and XS3pro), are good radios for the money. I got an XS3 thats 3 years old and still rock solid, and a xs3pro thats approaching a year solid, I run both on a mix of JR rs300and 310's and Novak recievers and they are great for those who don't need a lot of the special features, the pro level radio's mentioned here. The xs3 has a 6 model memory and the xs3pro has a 10 model memory.

the 5955 is an awsome servo, but the 5945 and 5645 are good as well and about a third less and solid as anything i got, i got both and use them almost everywhere

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
