Building NiHI battery pack - 12.17.2007, 12:35 AM

I would like to build 7C battery pack. Basically stock E-Maxx. I usually build side by side. Is it best to put the 7th cell on top or extend out the pack. If you extend the pack, how do you modify the frame?

if you have a stock emaxx chassis, your only option is to put the 7th cell on top, like this. otherwise, if you want to put the 7th cell parallel with the other 6 instead of perpendicular, you'll need to secure them with a strap other than the stock battery holder bar.

the best way to utilize 7 cells sxs is on an aftermarket extended chassis like the FLM.

Perfect! Thank you. I hope to have an extended chassis, but that will be a while.

That would work for sure, but doesnt it leave that cell a bit exposed on the underside like that? I wonder if you could remove the end of the battery compartment so you can extend the pack in that direction- there is a fair bit of free space (would need a velcro strap though).

I guess it would but the emaxx has such a high ground clearenece. When i raced my emaxx with stock chassis. I bought another chassis & cut the battery compartments off & bolted them to the under side of my emaxx & hung my battery's unedrneath my emaxx.
