mgm 16018, is this normal?

anyone care to decipher this excerpt from the MGM manual ?

Race mode: In race mode, the motor will be stopped when voltage of batteries drops below ca 4V, number of cells, their condition or current is not taken into
consideration. After throttling down to neutral, the operation may be resumed. This mode is quite harsh on accumulators, particularly for those
with more cells !!! Current fuse is disabled (that means it does not check maximal current !!!), the thermal fuse is set to 105°C. Warranty does not
apply to a possible damage of controller when operating under this mode.

Specifically, this bit....

Is that saying it will take the pack all the way down to 4v regardless of the number of cells ? OUCH! I think I will be ordering a LVC.

Yep, it will stop functioning at 4v, with no cutoff prior to that. This would be a good option if you used an external cutoff device.

One possible reason for the cutting out when set to "motor cutoff" (hard cutoff) could be a combination of long wires and connectors, assuming the battery can stay above the LVC point. BTW, the LVC cuts at 3.2v/cell.

Have you checked this? MGM told me that it was 3.1v/cell, but I suspect it may be more.
