I thought that is what the extra capacitors are for on the 9918. This allows for slighty longer wires. I know on the schulze controllers that's what they do for Emaxx controllers is add more capacitors so the wires can be longer. Let's face it on an Emaxx 4 inches of wire is near impossible.

The wire length is mostly to reduce glitching but if your wires are too long you can damage the controller. It is about the resistance, use 12 gauge wire if you can also, this helps lower the resistance.

Copper battery bars also have the lowest resistance even though they get ugly.
