You don't need to cut the wire. If you look closely at the plug it's in, you can pick up the plastic tab holding it in place with a pick tool or other sharp instrument. While you have the tab picked up, just slide the pin out of the connector. Then you can simply heatshrink or tape the pin. This way, you have it available to plug back in for future use if need be (like going to 2s in a different vehicle or something).
