Yeah, at 5s, you most probably fried the BEC. I would always use an external UBEC at anything over 2s or 7 cells. At 5s and a 3A servo load, that's 37.5 watts that has to be dissipated and the BEC is not even attached to a heatsink!
Some people say you can use hte built-in BEC up to 3s, but I've run tests before and the BEC heated up fast with just a very small load at 3s. |
