Is a revo 2.5R good for brushless conversion?

you can use the mechanical brakes with the Tekno kit without a problem. I don't think you can use reverse if you do that though.

MM and 8xl is a very popular budget setup, and should serve you quite well.

You can use reverse and the mechanical brakes with the Tekno kit. It works just like a nitro Revo.

Go with the 10xl, it will perform better for you and stay cooler.
