The hacker motors (C50 L's usually) used to be really popular in MT's where I race . They're pretty well built, and are better than the feigao's, but aren't great value. Guys here that don't want to spend so much on a motor have usually been buying feigaos in the last couple of years and two guys have used align's.
A couple of guys have recently gone from hacker to plettenburg maximum with fan, and prefer the pletty. Another likes his lehner 1940 over the hackers he used to use. I'm the only guy here at the moment using a neu and I really like it, but I've never owned a hacker to compare it too.
Basically if you can get a hacker for a price half way between a feigao and neu/pletty/lehner it might be worth it, but if you have to pay close to the price of neu/pletty/lehner, I wouldn't get the hacker. $286 for C50 L is too much.
