Here is my current setup plugged into Brian's speed calculator. It seems like it's alot faster I think. But maybe it's because it accelerates very hard and tops out quickly.

It is a really fun setup.

Differential Ratio: 2.8461538461538462
Transmission Ratio: 1.84
Other Ratio: 1
Spur Tooth Count: 40
Pinion Tooth Count: 22
Total Voltage: 14.8
Motor KV: 1130
Tire Diameter (inches): 5.75
Tire Ballooning (inches): 0
Motor Current Draw: 0
Motor coil Ω: 0
Spur/Pinion Ratio: 1.82 : 1
Total Ratio: 9.52168 : 1
Tire Circumference (inches): 18.06 inches (458.83 mm)
Total Motor Speed: 16724 RPM
Vehicle Speed: 30.05 mph (48.26 km/h)
Effective Speed Rate: 2.03 mph/V (3.26 kmh/V)
Estimated Adjusted Speed: 29 mph (46 km/h) - 4% loss
Effective KV Value: 1130

As you can see from the pictures earlier in this thread, it is a rather small motor. At only 36mm x 54mm, it's putting out some power.

AXI quality is hard to beat IMO. They use some of the strongest Neo Magnets around.

If you use a cheaper outrunner, it may not perform so well.

The AXI first appealed to me because of the optional cooling fan to help control motor temps.

I tried this on 5S and it just screams, but it was on the verge of overheating the motor even with the fan.

I think I found one of the KMS motors in this size: http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/108512.asp

Are there other turns available? I also wonder if the AXI fan would fit this?

I might! hehehhe

Something that makes me wonder here, in comparing the turn count to the AXI, these are ratings are just about the same for half the turns. I wonder if this KMS motor is a Wye wind?

THAT would make it even better IMO. It would be especially nice if the fan will fit. Does it have the 3 screw holes in the endbell?

1090kv! Every little bit counts. LOL

I would like to get one, install it and compare.
