I just wanted to buy the MGM Compro 160 amp, 24 cell brushless car controller in Mikes shop. Will I have the same problems ?

You will have the same problems. I bought one 2 weeks ago with version 3.14 firmware. That is the latest version and it has the problems.

Only controller build after the february 18th have the new SW version.
I realy don't know what's the number of the new version but as soon as mine come back home, i'll let you know it, hope that MGM will change the little yellow tag with the version write on it

So for now, i run my thrusty, workhorse old mamba max

Even if the sticker is unchanged, the software should read the version number.
