I too would drill the hole for the shaft if I did it again. I might do it next time I have it apart.

I put a couple of pics in the linked thread above that shows the new 3905 shaft in the 3906 case and it next th the stock shaft.. It will be a close fit in the G1 tranny but couldn't verify that it would work for sure. It's uses a different size locknut then the Revo shaft. The nice thing about the 3905 shaft is the top gear must be machine pressed on. I didn't see any holes for pins at all. It also look like it would be stronger.
