Hey did notice a post here. Yeah, got the new software and firmware on the mm controllers. Does it matter to the motor if you are running a sensored ESC or not? Not sure it that is what I am asking. What is the difference between a sensored motor vs not sensored?

Well, a non-sensored motor is run by a non-sensored esc by sensing the back emf while firing the individual phases (I do not really understand this on a level to make electronics, but it is a method of determining the rotor position). With that info it can adjust the timing and other important parameters.

A sensored motor uses a hall sensor to determine the rotor position.

So any non-sensored esc can run any motor, with or without a sensor. A sensored esc can only run a sensored motor.
