Thanks suicideneil.
I am (relativeley) close to you,in west sussex!
I am building on a budget, having picked up a nice roller from the chap who I sold my moth-balled ERA crawler to.So it will quite probably be a slow build, but that is half the fun! :)

Great info in this thread!

I’m attempting this conversion but have a few questions:
  1. Are the MGT spurs 32p or mod1 pitch? Are there any mod1 pitch spurs compatible with this slipper setup?
  2. For those who have closed the 10mm distance, between the motor and slipper plate, was it necessary to reposition the idler gear on the shaft (i.e. drill new hole, etc)? Or did you simply trim the rear of the shaft and shim the front to set the entire shaft back? (Gorilla tranny obviously)
  3. Is the new 3905 Emaxx input shaft the same as the Revo input shaft? Seems this upgrade “kit” from Traxxas is the easiest/cheapest way to gather all these parts (less spurs/pinions):

So, to make this work for stock gearbox of 3906 E-Maxx, these parts are needed?
- 3992 input shaft
- 5351 slipper plate
- 5352X slipper rebuild kit
- 3969 output shaft
- 3984X output gear
- 3996X steel idler

And all modifications needed is to shorten the input shaft or drill a hole to the rear cover?
