After spending that much money on the truck though, I just can't imagine why you wouldn't go lipo? Its lighter, and you'll have more power.
With all that aluminum, and those motors, weight is not of a primary concern. Besides, it doesnt need to be light to pose for pictures!

Losi 8T 1.0, Savage Flux - XL style, LST XXL, Muggy, 3.3 E-Revo Conversion and sitting outside 425hp, 831 Tq Dodge Ram Turbo Diesel. It SMOKES

There have been a few of these trucks around for a while now, but few sell as whole trucks. They seem to fetch more money in pieces, because few people want to spend that much money at one time buying a truck that was built by someone else. The UE lightning is a major work of art when it is fully built and a hugely fun project. I have enjoyed building mine and managed to purchase most of it through the Bay when one guy decided to get out of the hobby before finishing his project. His loss, my gain.

I am a metal junkie as well. I have only been in the hobby for three years, but I am a retired Mechanic and an avid carpenter who loves building things that will out last me. Strong, fast, quality, and hopefully beautiful is what I try to produce in everything that I build. We have seen a lot of different vehicles over the years, and in my opinion the SuperMaxx is at the top of the heap. It is versitile, and beautifully designed. Robin did a great job with that one. Your double Plat setup is one of the best that I have seen and probably the most powerful as well. Nice work. You must be very proud of that one.

I started out on the UE site, but things have gotten kind of quiet lately with the lack of R/C parts available to the public. So this is where I spend a lot of my time now. People here seem to be much more passionate here about the hobby in general. Plus this site is targeted towards brushless power. It can be pretty complicated up front, but much simpler to operate on the track.
