Help. - 03.25.2008, 11:45 AM

I do believe that those stock shoulder screws for the steering linkage are the same screws used on the shock mounts. I just use titanium screws with aluminum tubing for collars. For the pinion gear blue loctite will help plus a flat spot on the shaft will lock it in better. I also place heatshrink over the pinion/set-screw to keep it from comming out all the way in the event that it does come lose. You are going through what most of us experience with an RTR out of the box vehicle. It will keep on breaking parts until you take teh plunge and bulletproof your truck using mostly metal hopup parts. One of the strongest and cheapest versions for making this transition is the FLM gear sold here on RC Monster.

I didnt but it there due to the wiring not fitting and i didnt want to add the length to the motor or the controller. I was easy enough as the 2 peice of aluminum are thing i had laying around.

Any suggestions on bulkheads? Is there an aluminum diff case that fits stock bulks but fits 1/8 hybrid setup?

^I’m a fan of hanging it off the dual motor mount, similar to the intention of the RCM ESC plate. Up off the chassis and bulks/towers, centralized and close to motor, and up high enough to get some decent air-flow from a vented body.

Thanks for the help i think for now im going to hold off and see what the next few weeks brings as the local track is opening. Most of the guys seem to be running a stock 1/10 scale brushless class but a few of us have MT's and i know id like to run my maxx and possibly a revo if i can put one together.
