Shame about the esc- do you think you'll be able to get it fixed by S&T?

Looks like nice conversion, and its good to hear the Medusa performed well, even if it did incinerate the poor esc....

Yep, imagine how light a newer buggy, like the rc8 or the losi 8 could be. May be able to get it under 7lbs. I do not really know how much lighter this one could go. I could have a lighter servo mount, and use a different front chassis brace, as the servo mount makes up some of the front brace.

My battery tray, and esc mount are very lightweight. Maybe a carbon fiber chassis, or some ultralight wheels/tires?

Don't know guys how you can make a buggy so light. I've an Hyper 7 pro ( i know it's not the lightest buggy) and without any electronic in it, it's 6.2 lbs.
Put a Neu and a 5000mAh 4s with a controller and servo, and i'am over 8 lbs

I have a hyper 7 too, and it is heavier. I have the RCPD side trays and run a pair of trakpower lipos in series. I will weigh it today and post up the results.

OK James, because i'am not sure if i'll keep the mugen MBX5T in brushless mode or if i'll convert the Hyper 7 pro instead and put the new O.S. .28XZ in the mugen.
I would like to have the lighter truck in brushless mode, but i would like to gice a try to the mugen truggy on the track.

Because the mugen with my 1515, 5000mAh, 4s flightpower and mgm 16018, with badland tire weight more than 10lbs.........

Last week a nitro guy in my club just got his Xray 808, he told me that it was really light.

Put some better tires on the buggy today and took it out for a run. It is hot outside, 90f+ and I am running in grass and concrete. After about 10-12min I stopped and tempsed everything. Lipos very 110, esc was 160f and the motor was about 160f too. I think that I need better cooling, as the body does not really have many holes in it. I have a few space clip on heatsinks, I will give them a try on the motor. Not bad, and the medusa has enough power to wheelly the vehicle. I also have some road tires, may be a bit slicker than the crimefighters I am running. It has tons of traction on blacktop and concrete with the crimefighters...

This buggy is super agile, mainly due to the weight distribution. Turns on a dime, and has plenty of steering!

How are crimefighters holding up for you - especially on concrete/asphalt in a 1/8 buggy. They haven't become slicks in one run?

Suprisingly not, I have run them with a few buggies, and they are holding up well. I have some road rage tires on wheels that I can try, but I like mixed bashing, and the crime fighters seem to work well. Plus they were free from a friend...

Do you know if it's the M2, M3 or XTR compound? I have a set of crimefighters in M2 but have been afraid to run them on asphalt.

Also have a set of MOABs in the M2 compound and the are nearly shredded after 3 runs.

Not sure , how would I tell? Is it written on the tire?

Hmmm... Good question - maybe model number on the side of the tire.

#9014-00 (XTR)
#9014-01 (M2)
#9014-02 (M3)

I just bought a hyper 7 with the RCPD kit on ebay and the seller mentioned your screen name. I wonder if I just bought your old hyper 7?
