I was thinking height. With a large scale, you could maybe put battery trays on both sides (on the dirt guards), and then maybe make something similar to the original emaxx motor mount so the motors sit up over the cells, but out to the sides a little. You'd probably have room up front on one side for the receiver, BEC, and the dual ESCs.
That is gonna be one HEAVY vehicle!
12s lipos are gonna be around 3-4lbs each.
Motors are around 1.4lbs each.
ESCs, BEC, receiver area probably close to 1/4-1/2 lb altogether.
So, you're looking at around 11-13lbs of just equipment at the least, not to mention the weight of the vehicle itself (around 10lbs?).

Yeah weight is going to become an issue for sure. 24S worth of Lipo's is not light weight by any means. I may have to re-think this and possibly just go single 1527 and run 12S with 6S on either side for balancing. That would also allow me to keep the body low.
Interesting project. What kind of power requirement do you think you will need?
I would think that 4 fp 3300 25c 6s lipo packs would do. That would give about 3000 watts to each motor, so about 4 hp per motor.
Given the large amount of space, you sould be able to put a motor on either side of the center diff. Make one big bulkhead that replaces the rear center bulkhead.
