I like the hyperion (have a duo myself). IT has a computer interface for firmware updates etc (logging/graphing software coming soon). It measures the battery internal resistance (something the FMA totes as a unique feature), the hyperion has a built in balancer, AND it charges all the common chemistries. For this reason I went from ICE/equinox to Hyperion 0610iDUO.

One of my requirements needed the enourmous power output (for charging HV A123 packs at 10A) so the Duo was a good choice.

I have the 0610i and use it to charge two 2s (total of 4s) packs using a Y connector. It works great, and I haven't had any issues. As for the connection sequence, I plug in the power then the batteries and it works... I haven't had any connection issues.
