I've run the SS5800 Novak with a sintered rotor in it pre-firmware update. Ran pretty decently, and would only cog 1/5 of the time if I punched it to WOT from a stand still. I've still gotta try it with the new firmware. I probably won't though since the Medusa runs SOO well (unless of course you want me to try it out and let you know the results, then I'll be happy to do it).

I've also run an HV4400 with the original bonded rotor, and that cogged a little as well (again, about 1 out of every 5 tries I got some cogging). I would assume the new firmware improves the initial start of these motors considerably though.

The Reedy motors rated by "stars" use bonded rotors btw. You can buy a 14mm sintered rotor (vs. Novak's largest which is 13mm, but Novak's rotors are also nickel plated, whereas the Reedy rotors are not) though for the Reedy X-11 motors (should fit the 2 star motor though; may need an endbell swap perhaps).
