After reading the safety thread, and all the lipo talk, I thought I would share a story I had of them. Didn't want to railroad that thread so I made a new one. To try to make a long story short. I was working midnights, so I pretty much sleep half the day away. The mailman knows me pretty well, and left the box with two new batteries on the front porch, my neighbors dog at some point decides to play with the box, chewing it up and got a suprise. The older woman that lives next door (not the dogs owner) wakes me up by pounding on my door. She says she was out in the yard, and heard a yelp, looked over and it looked like something was on fire out by her ditch. She walked over to take a look, and saw the box laying there with my name on it. As soon as I saw the chewed up box I knew what had been in it, and luckily the other pack was still unharmed. She didn't really know what to think, and told me where the otherone was laying at. I walked over to the ditch, and found the burnt up half eaten battery. This was just a couple months ago and it was wet outside, luckily it wasn't in the fall when there was leaves and dead grass everywhere. So I guess what I am trying to say is safety first, although I really don't know what I could have done different in this situation, unexpected things can happen. Here is the results, by the way I took some pics and sent to the guy and got them from and just to be nice he hooked me up on a replacement. I have several of these packs and I have been well pleased with there service, both seller and pack.

It really is a shame that folks can't keep their dogs in their own yard. Did you confront your neighbor about their dog chewing on your package?

Well, there is not really much I coulld say, I had told the neighbors before that I didn't mind their dog over here to play with mine, problem is, my dog has a wireless fence, so she drags my stuff over into someone elses yard so my dog can play with it, shoes, gloves, stuff out of the garage, or when she gets tired of playing she goes just beyond where my dog can go and sits their aggravating my dog. I am a pretty easy going neighbor. They honestly wouldn't have the money to pay for the pack anyway, so I didn't bother.

Only in America.....

Some kind of wooden or metal box with a lid is needed by your porch, then any items left by the mailman can be put in there for safe keeping (just an idea).

I can't stand when people let their animals walk around others property. I've had several conflicts like this. I have to two dog tags on my car as a trophey. A long time back when we were living in the sticks we had a neighbor with 4 or 5 dogs that he just left outside, no chain, no tags, no nothing. They always came and attacked our chickens. We told him about it and he didn't care to do anything about it. One night after the new batch of chickens we loaded the guns and waited. Got most of them and never heard from the neighbor.

Ouch. I wonder if its legal to to the same thing in the UK, only with regards to neighbours children.....

I don't think it's really legal in the US either. No matter what, how is the neighbor gonna complain? I can just imagine the complaint: "Yeah, my neighbor shot my dogs which happened to be on his property and happened to be eating his property". lol.

I have a neighbor living across the street with 2 dogs, 2 geese, and a number of ducks. This is IN Des Moines BTW. Anyway, their animals are always over my yard doing their duty or just being a nuisance.

One time one of their geese was in my yard foraging and the kids were afraid of it (they are kinda large after all). So I went out and tried to shoo it away. Man geese are stupid! I had to get a stick and beat it off my yard. I told the guy the next time I see any of his geese in the yard, I would be having a free Thanksgiving dinner.

Another time one of the dogs bit one of my stepkids while checking the mail (not enough to break the skin though). I went over there and told him if this happened again I was going to kill his dog right in front of him and then kick the sh!t out of him for just being a waste of flesh. Yeah, I was mad. In retrospect, I should have just called the cops. He didn't say anything, but they haven't bothered me badly since.

Every once in a while, one of the dogs looks like it wants to come over, but a sharply thrown rock dissuades them.

I don't blame the animals so much as the owners. If an animal causes damage or bodily harm, the OWNER should be put to sleep.

You know, I've come close to buying a paintball gun several times to shoo the neighbor's dogs away. And just so as not to leave a colored mess, I'd buy clear paintballs.

I was thinking along the same lines, but use small potatoes (or maybe cherry tomatoes?) instead. They're biodegradeable.

I got a slingshot just for thar purpose and 1/4"steel balls for it. If you hit them just right, not only will they think twice about it, they will flinch

The paintballs are biodegradeable as well. They're typically made with food grade products. I watched an episode of "How It's Made" showing that they are gelatin based and water soluble. Here's some more info:
