I believe there is a vent on one end, and a filling hole that is sealed on the other- I foregt which end each is on. As for soldering, you just go around them- I used a piece of 14g wire either side of the vent, though you can buy special A123 battery bars that even have a hole in the middle for balance tap wires:

I have some of those batt bars, but what I want to know is how you take care of the end to end joint? When you remove these from a 36v pack, you could cut the pack up into pairs of cells. Are you just bending these to make them end to end using the dewalt connection?

I run 5s2p a123s in my flm emaxx where I have the room, they are kinda bulky though and wouldn't easily fit a G2R which I also have. I have just taken another 36v pac apart and want to use them in my g2R but don't uinderstand how everyone is doing the end to end joint. Thanks
