yep it is called sniping
you bid your max at the last 15 secs and you usually win.

I usually wait for the last 5-10 secs. I always win unless my max bid is lower than somebody else's.

at work i wait until 15 sec cause the inet is a tad slower because of all the firewalls and switches before it can leave the building. At home i can get as close as 3 sec.
