I'd say so. my bro runs a 6s zippy Feigao 12XL in his sav, and with the regular moabs (not the XL's like on this truck) with normal chassis and no heavy alu upgrades he often shears dogbones etc, put normal size wheels on it and the problem goes away.

I switched to Crimefighter MTR's and it helped a bit. The problem then is the massive amount of wheelspin on hard packed dirt. I was using FLM bones which are even thicker than the new XL ones. It just wasn't fun, I wish you better luck.
