if it's a crappy hobbycity one, double check that each endplate hasn't slipped a bit over the threads and got the end of it out of alignment making the rotor touch the windings and bind up. I have had to jb weld one because locktite would not hold it on, the paper thin can distorts and it slips over it. I have another one of their motors with about 6 runs on it that even with the enbell glued there is enough slop to make the rotor short to the windings just by wiggling the end of the rotor. I couldn't figure out why my esc kept getting so hot. Seemed fine out of the car, put in the car set the mesh, roll the wheels, and it would see a short.
