That sucks. Hopefully the ESC is ok. Actually, the motor is probably still ok, just a bit of re-shrinkwrapping might be all that's needed.

Whenever I mount my motor, I always think about what the wire could possibly contact. Since they tend to bounce a lot (which isn't good for their longevity since they will eventually break), I like to make some sort of arm to support them. A couple examples:





And to prevent the wires from wearing against the bare arm metal, I either wrap the metal in heatshrink (Revo) or use a bit of foam (Hyper8). You can't see it in the pics, but the Revo even has a little support arm mounted to the rocker post.
