Best steak I ever had was at Sparks in NYC, I lived about 200ft from Smith and Wollnskys but didnt like them as much
There's a place on 52nd (Might be 42nd) that has a great stake, I forgot the name of it though. My brother was talking about it when he came over a year or so ago.

S & W's is on 49th and Sparks is on 46th both right at 3rd ave.. There was something on 42nd I think between 6th and 7th maybe 8th ave. Thads maybe ? They cooked the steak by the window and it must have been marinated in butter it was so juicy

Thads, that kind of rings a bell. All I know this stake is aged and huge. I'll call my brother in FL to find out for sure.
Ruth's Cris or Saddle Peak Lodge- Coby (sp?) beef, $150 10 oz steak! But you didn't even need a knife to cut it.
that would be the japenese Kobe beef I work with a guy who swears by it...from what he tells me they personally massage the cows to get the meat more tender...the meat is fatty looks similar to Ribeye IMO here is a some info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kobe_beef
