I have both ofna 6 and 8 spyder diffs in my trucks. Aside from the strength, there really is not much of a difference. I still have to use the same diff oil weight for each of them. Just because it's an 8 spyder does not mean lighter weight diff oil to achieve the same action. Having 8 spyders means more contact are like you said which means better load distrribution at a bigger area resulting in less failure rate of the gears.

Let me know if you want measurements too so I can give them to you. I would have bought your revo with slipperential but I forgot all about it :(.

Good to know that aside from load hadling there is not much of a difference, except price$$$$. Those spider diffs are a bit costly

Yeah, you missed out of the slipper revo, but I am going to make my own center slipper/diff setup. Using the new emaxx tranny will give better reduction and more gearing options, plus it will directly bolt to the erevo too. And it is sealed so the internals will hold up better.

Probably the most fun filling a diff I've ever had. You have to have some pretty nimble fingers and shop towels handy. Nice diff though, usually go pretty cheap on ebay. Search Hyper 8.5 or ST and you will find them.
