Wow i just can't create a realiable setup can I?

After running a pack thru the mugen, i temp'd the motor and it read 209F...(feigao 8XL) Speedo was 143F, Lipo was 99F...

I thought that was way too hot for a motor of any type...and it was. I don't even know why it heat up so much since i'm geared real conservatively..13/46

I tried running it again yesterday, and the motor won't even spool up! It won't even move on the pavement. If I lift it off the ground and spin the tires, it cogs insanely and i'll guess the motor only pushs out 3000rpm on the 4S lipo. Is the 8XL TRASHED ALREADY?? I've run maybe 8 packs through it.

The wires are soldered perfectly....all connections are good...

I just don't think i'll be able to continue this project as it is going, i may have to abandon it. I don't have 100 bucks to drop down on another part, not to mention I still saved $200 for a MMM that I still cannot get my hands on before school starts.

Motor demagged from the heat. Open it up, and the magnet will probably be cracked or completely apart from the shaft. This happened to me two times on my 9xl motor. Feigao has a great warranty so I got a brand new one in the end. I did it through Mike though, so he sent it to them...

Hey I sent mike an e-mail about the failed motor about 2 1/2 weeks ago and i still have no reply

....I just need a motor to run.

I was so close to purchasing a 1512 motor from mikes store, but I realized, i'm going to be blowing $250 on just the motor, when I still need the MMM, expecially when the combo (when it comes out) is under $300.

OR if anybody has a good MMM Or Neu setup to sell i'd jump on that deal...

But anyways I still need that 8XL replacement...How can i contact mike??

Wow really....thats good.

You see i'm getting temps of 115 with my Zippy-H 5000mah lipos, and i'm not even running them real hard at all with an 8XL.

And is it normal for the lipo to slightly swell up after the run? My packs do that but they always go back to normal after 15 minutes...?

i think 115 is ok BUT i dont think swelling is fine.it happened to me once with a truerc pack and never used it since.just my opinion though.my guess is youll be better with 5s/6s with a smaller pinon

WELL..........Wanna know what happened today with my NEW MMM V2?

Nothing but good news!!!!! :) :D

It seems as if the Mamba Monster has solved all of the problems i have been having...this is rediculous....

FIRST, I have to tell you my old setup temps....

OLD SETUP:
MM W/ Fan: 180 F
Feigao 8XL : 210F
Zippy 4S lipo : 115 F

I had that old Feigao 9XL that Entjoles gave me and I decided, hey what the heck, i'll give this motor another try...(it heated up my MM to 180 degrees....and it ran at 180...)

So I solder'd up some bullet connectors on the MMM to connect to the motor...Solder'd up a deans on the MMM too...

Got everything setup, programmed the MMM...and I just hoped for the best...

I turned it on outside, started giving it throttle...and MAN, this speedo is smooth.. No cogging what-so-ever at startup...

Then I gave it a little more throttle...it EXPLODED with speed...The MM just wasn't capable of putting the 4S lipo power to the ground it doesn't seem like, now that I look back at it.

I took it out to the street (keep in mind this was a few minutes ago and it is dark...)
And I gave it 3/4 throttle for a second...its too fast (especially in the dark)..I couldn't go full...I was afraid I couldn't see it...LOL.

I bring it in for temps after running it around for a good 10 minutes non-stop..was running pretty light on it but STILL... here are the temps:

NEW SETUP:

MMM: 86F
Feigao 9XL: 120F
Zippy 4S lipo: 85F

What a difference...
The most important purchase was the MMM...It solved ALL my problems...now my truck runs great...
