The stock plastic sliders to the wheels are still the best/most reliable setup IMO. I went through all kinds of CVDs before going back to the plastic sliders. I just consider them a wear item. Eventually the joints on them start to stretch, but then I just replace them before they fail. They last quite a while (half a race season or so) before they need replacing. They last longer than any of the CVDs I ever tried anyway, and hell of a lot cheaper.
