Well, I just called Castle and they said no. Something to do with the fact that they have a flat repair fee, and dishonest people may later send in their discounted V1 to be replaced with a V2 ESC for cheap. Still, I think they could mark such ESCs somehow so V1's could be differentiated from V2's - maybe some etching on the PCB itself.

Don't buy it as they could do something very simple - like trim 1 corner fin by 2mm...
