If you can fit a finned can motor, go with it. My finned Tekno RC Neu runs, at the hottest, 145 degrees after ~40 minutes of bashing in 90-100 degree weather without a body on. Yes, you can add a heatsink to a smooth can but it is not as effective as having the fins directly on the can.
