I've also joined at Offshoreelectrics and been reading up at RCU and RCGroups.
So your thinking of going with the SV27?
I still really like the Formula Fastech, I'll check one out at the LHS on Thursday

yeah...the SV27 is the one to get you can get one for under $300 and dont need to do much to make it scream.... they seem to be the TMaxx of the boat world....Like Linc says keep it stock except for the prop and use a 4s lipo....I have seen some videos and they have been impressive, I also have seen the bigger gas boats I do like them but a good one will run at last $1200
