Actually this looks like a project that you can really have some fun with using your creative side. Yea stock would be cool if you were able to still get parts for it, but I doubt that you can. From my perspective I would look closely at what parts from other vehicles may easily cross over and make it possible to make that rig fun, dependable, and efficiant. It is always nice when you can work on something that no one else has ever done before. It would be very hard for anyone to copy your work when the vehicle is no longer in production and parts are impossible to find. Then you will have something original that is a one of a kind(valuable) work of art. You might be able to have some fun and still sell it if you wish recovering most if not all of your investment. Some people like collecting R/C toys that are hard to come by. Good luck with the build, and with not spending any money.
