Arct1K, i think you're right, because on my 1509, the manufacture date is 4/23/2008 and on my 1512, it's 5/20/2008.
So if you're right, my 1509 have the old style rotor and my 1512 have the new style one.
I can see by the back cooling holes that on the 1512, the gap between the rotor and stator is more important than on the 1509.
Hope that the performances will not be altered.
