I have owned pretty much every brushless motor there is...

Neu, plett, hacker, lehner, aveox, medusa, novak, feigao, kontronic, mega, aquacraft, kb, castle, orion, traxxas, ammo, and many more that I cannot remember.

Plett are the nicest, built quality is great, and they perform very well. Neu is just as good, design appears to be identical. Plus they are USA made and their service is exceptional. Aveox are great too, basically identical to neu motors. I have a feeling the neu is a little better, so i place aveox and medusa at the same level.

Honestly with the introduction of the medusa 70mm motors, there is no need to buy anything else. You cannot beat the price, maybe with the castle/neu motors, but the kv choice is limited (I am sure they will offer more choices). i would recomment a MMM/castleneu combo to anyone to run 4s, or a lower kv medusa 70mm with the mmm for 6s.

Hacker make great motors, the c50 series are on par with lehner motors. They are both very epensive, but can be found used cheap. Both are 2 pole, so will work with cheaper escs that may have issues starting 4 pole motors. I would only buy these used, and you will want motor history with any used motor purchase. Both of these motors produce good power and run effeciently, not quite as good as a neu. But better than the medusa.

I do not have enough runtime on the mega motors to offer any insight. I will say that feigaos are a waste of money given that a 60mm medusa will perform as well as an xl and only cost avout 30-40 bucks more.

Novak motors are well made, but are a bit small, so the hv are best left to a buggy or lower geared Mt. Still a good choice if you are novak loyal, the new hv esc is a big jump from the old esc.
