If the clutch assembly won't go back any further, check that there is no material in the clutch assembly preventing it from being seated properly. Use a pick of some type to check. If it's clear, you will need to grind or cut the motor shaft down a bit. Neu motor shafts vary with their production runs, sometimes they are shorter, longer, have a notch in them, etc. The clutch assembly can accommodate 19-20mm shafts and shorter.

Put the motor in a plastic bag and poke the shaft through. Wear eye goggles and use a high quality cutting disc. Make sure the motor is held securely. Go slow and use a steady hand.
