Does the 9l have a 1/8 shaft or 5mm?

Should be a decent setup, gear for 35mph or so and the 9l should be fine. A heatsink is mandatory, and some cooling holes in the body won't hurt either. I hate fans, but you may need one, depending on outside temps. It is getting closer to winter so that may not be an issue till summer...

9L is available with both, definitely go for the 5mm though.

Mike's heatsink clamp is a very good upgrade for it. It'll help hold the motor together through all the rough stuff and help with cooling.

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

I know it is available with either shaft. My question was directed to rawfuls and his specific motor. He asked if stock gearing would be useable. Not sure if he checked to see what shaft the 9l has. The stock e-sav pinions are 32p and 1/8 bore.

The clamp is a good idea as the endbells tend to come off...
