Well, for those of you who don't know, i think the MGM i got is a dud, i've tried everything to get it working, but there is just no go. I've e-mailed MGM and am waiting on a reply, so hopefully they send me out a replacement, which i'd definately expect for a $375 controller

Im talking to Mike at the moment trying to see if it is maybe me doing something wrong, but at the moment it seems the controller is busted

just one thing after another...

Don't worry Jordan. We all have to overcome obstacles from time to time. You will be burning up the dirt before you know it and all of the problems will become a blur to you. Your doing great.

MGM Troubles - 11.20.2008, 05:01 AM

Hey Jordan what problems are you having with the MGM exactly. I have two 28025-3 and both gave me a lot of trouble to start with but all worked out fine. 9 times out of ten it was something i was doing.
So what are the problems. I dont think that your MMM will handle that motor 4.5Kw/22.2V=204.5A

the problems are... - 11.20.2008, 09:58 AM

First off, using the CC_03 cable with the USBcom++ to update the controller SW, the PC will not recognize the controller. So I cannot update anything as it stays stuck at the ‘searching for device’ stage. That is using the MGM flasher software by the way, downloaded from the MGM website.

Second problem is I cannot set the throttle points using the transmitter, or get the ESC into programming mode at all for that matter. I have read the various walkthroughs and instructions on how to do this, ie. Hold full throttle, turn on the transmitter. Turn on the controller/receiver and it should beep to let you know its going into programming mode, then put it to reverse, then neutral etc. But it does nothing. The only thing that happens is a green light turns on inside the ESC, but I get no flashes or beeps or anything else.

Another thing is that when I connect the whole system up, the steering servo will work, but the motor will not turn when I use the throttle. Which is a bit odd, because I think this proves the BEC is working, but somehow no power is going to the motor.

And I’m using the Spektrum DX3R.

Also, im only running 5s, (18.5v). I used Brians calc and i think the average continuous amps i'll be pulling should be alright for the MMM, fingers crossed.

thanks for any help, would be much appreciated

Are you holding full throttle for over 10 seconds?
