i hate to say it but u will not get far before u destroy that diff gear or burn up the diff, the balls will melt the plastic in the diff. I know i had my evader up to 55 with a 3s pack and a mamba max 5700kv system, i did every upgrade known to man excpept the aluminum diff gear which only one person has one and this manurfacturing them but only got as far as the prototype as there was no demand for a 60dollar gear shipped. i have the brushless evader video on u tube with the gps runs and the crash at the end. i have since moved to the rustler jaco foams as they are larger than the old ones in the vid. i could not drive it with out burring up diffs from the inside out unless i babied the throttle which u could never get to top speed. i since have sold the mamba system and just have the built up roller on the shelf as i built a crt pro brushless on 5s and that project kind of broke the bank so its gonna be a while before i figure out what im gonna do with it. just a heads up i would not expect great things from this tranny as it will either burn up or strip under high power.

It Lives!! - 12.21.2008, 11:28 PM

So i was at ben's house today, and besides the bash from hell returning to haunt me, we decided to work on my supervader, and we finally got it running! It was a pain and a half, but thanks to the heated garage, we finally managed to get it running last minute before I had to go home. we had to extend the motor mount slots, mod the slipper to house a mod1 spur gear, shave down the plastic housing of the transmission, and then carve off some of the fins of my 8L and finally it all fit! by that point i got the call that my dad was on his way, so we just rushed, put the lipo on, and then took the entire sharkfin from the hyper 7 and placed it ontop of the lipo, plugged in ben's dsm rx and let it dangle, then ziptied the whole thing together, and ran it on a nearly dead 5S lipo. it was amazingly fast!

^the extended motor plate^

^plastic 47T spur gear pressed and CA'ed onto the slipper plate^

^how tight of a fit, after shaving down the tranny house^

^Done all the work to the vader itself^

^My Fiegao 8L after I ate a chunk out of it^

^the motor finally fits!^

^zipties + sharkfin = 30 seconds to wire for testing!^

FYI there isnt much you can hear in the vids... my phone decided to not stop playing music while shooting videos, and it kinda made them sound really REALLY bad...

^the tires balloon so much they start to peel off the rims!^

^there wasnt any servo in so it was just pin the wheels, put it down and do donuts on the epoxy floor!^

You call that ballooning? That's nothing!
