tekno neu have a suspect clak clak when spinning - 12.26.2008, 01:17 PM

hi guys, i have a tekno neu 2200kv barely new (it has like 10 5000mah 4s lipo) and when I take the neu from the tekno revo to install into my new mugen tekno, i noticed that when i spin the shaft with my hand sounds like a clak clak clak inside. The was running good since last time i ride it on my revo, but i wanna know if i must dissasemble the neu to check if something is break or i will void the guarantee. The neu is like three months old.
Will you dissasemble to look if have some bearing broke or something?
I never dissasembled any neu, but im not afraid about do it, i just wanna know if you will do and some tips about rebuilding nad taking care of it.
thanks for all

Is it an actual "clack" sound, or do you just feel the magnetic detents?

is just a little clack clack, its not too noisy, but when the neu was new i spinned the shaft and i didnt notice any clak clak. Maybe im afraid cause its a very expensive motor, just paranoic maybe.
As i said the neu seems to run as first time, but if it has any issue i wanna fix it before it brokes.
thanks

Hmm. I can't imagine what would go "clack clack". The bearings might feel gritty if dirty, but other than the magnetic "notches", I can't imagine what it would be. The Tekno Neus are sealed, so there can't be any pebbles inside. Maybe a lamination on the rotor is peeling somewhat? Dunno, sorry.

I wouldn't open the motor and just simply call Tekno about it. No need to void the warranty, unless you can open and close it without any visible signs you did so.
