80mm Medusa - 12.29.2008, 02:03 AM

Thanks for the info unsullied Spy. I have a 1527 1D 2200kv Neu but have problems with ESC burning up, Now I bought a 22418 MGM but I'd like to put a MMM and the 80 mm Medusa in it.

No prob. 1Ds typically pull a lot of amps. It's best to go as low of KV as you can and run higher voltage. Your ESC will handle 6s, so a 1600KV would be best. The 2000KV motor is fine, but the 1600 will run cooler and pull fewer amps. I had a 1515 1.5D in my Muggy and it pulled a ton of amps, I could thermal my 16018 in just a few minutes if I pushed it hard enough.

What sort of amps are we talking about, for the 2000kv 80mm medusa on 6s? I've got one of those ordered, but I'm going for longer run times, not crazy insane speed, so should I see if Medusa can change it to a 1600kv?

Anyone feel like getting me an EagleTree or Oracle as a belated Christmas gift?

I'm not sure exactly how many amps, and it all depends on your gearing (you pull a lot more with taller gearing). If you would prefer longer run times the 1600KV would be a better option. I wish I had ordered it instead, but I got the 2,000 so I'm just going to deal with it. It's not bad or anything, but the 1600 would be better (I'm currently stuck with 4s lipo, so it's kinda a good thing I got the 2000).

Yea, I'm in the same boat. I was going to run 5S LiPos which is why I initially ordered the 2000kv, but having read up I think I'll get a bunch of 3s 4000/5000mah packs and run 6s packs.

I've been looking at the Oracle System.

How is it compared to other data loggers?

Where can I see a screen shot of the software? Thanks

Specs are good, I think they're comparable to a EagleTree. I've heard that the resolution is really good on them, better than an EagleTree. Not sure where to find a screenshot of the software.
