Well I'll say this. Comparing a tekno NEU 1515/1/Y/F (2200kv) to the Medusa 36-60-2000kv. The Medusa's must not be very efficient motors. I had the NEU in an SC8, geared 13/46 on 5s and the NEU never got hot, 110 at best. I have the Medusa in my D8 buggy, geared 13/48 on 5s and it gets real hot real quick. The SC8 has diff gearing of 43/10, the D8 also uses 43/10. The D8 and the SC8 also had the same size tires, same set of tires for that matter.

So I went ahead and ordered a NEU 1512/2.5/D/F for the buggy and the Medusa will go in my basher/Corr truck project.

Undergeared? Running the numbers in the calc shows a top speed of only about 30mph. IMO an 18t pinion would be a better choice for about 40mph.

I guess it's possible. I have a 16 tooth, will try 16/48 and play with the timing. If the company is suggesting 8-15 degree timing then I'll put the MMM at "Normal" and try that.

Maybe these motors are absolute beasts and can handle just about anything you throw at them, except undergearing.
