The best part is that the motor hasnt been over 120 and im getting a good 35 mins racing.
FInally the temp issues are behind me and i can focus on tuning the shocks and tire combo!

Its incredible the difference between this motor and an 8XL - night and day not to mention the 8XL wound up smoking after a full pack of speed runs where the 2200 is barely breaking a sweat.

WAY TO GO CASTLE!!!!

with 6s lipo a 8XL is too hot of a motor , a 10XL would be a much better setup, Feigaos are not very forgiving a 10lb truck

As I suspected. Glad to read about what's working for you.
I've got the same combo in the 'maxx running 24/68, but on 4S and it's obviously not getting hot.
My e-revo, on the other hand, has the kb45 08XL on 6S geared 24/62 and I'd have to agree the motor's still not happy.
Maybe I should just spare the 8XL and run 6S in the maxx till I decide to swap out the 8XL for another CC2200.
I really like that motor. Kinda adds meaning to the "cheap" statement people tend to blurt out when discussing feigaos and the like. When compared to a NEU/Castle, they certainly seem cheap to me. :)

Happy running.
