Hey,i have just ordered me a hv 110 esc for my rc car.
I was just wondering if my pistol radio(stock) will be 1/2 throttle at pistol neutral.
Thanks..

It will not. Full brake will arm the ESC, and neutral will be 1/2 throttle. There is no way to change this either. Also keep in mind we will not warranty the ESC in a car either as it is being used outside its intended means.

To add to Joe's response; you can get the HV to work with a pistol radio easily with a PiStix adaptor. It just translates the signals to something the ESC wants to see. But good luck finding one of those adaptors!
Yes, I have one, but only being sold with the ESC.

Some radios can be set up such that the PiStix isn't necessary, by moving the throttle trims all the way negative. This worked with my React (used a HV-110 without PiStix) but it won't work with all radios.
The HV-110 is a great ESC for sure! Super smooth starts are very welcoming considering it is an airplane ESC.

Yeah, I guess I should have mentioned that.

Yes you can. I used a DX3.0 and a DX3r and was able to get it to work on both. It worked after fiddling with trims/EPAs, but IIRC there was still some issue that made me not like using it like that. So I ended up getting a PiStix adaptor and it was much easier.

Not to piss in anyone's cheerios... But Lautach's 10s esc is a great alternative to the hv110 and it comes with a prog box too. Good for 100 amps. I have run air speedos with a pistix and prefer the Lutach esc, and so does your mom.

The LT-10S is a great ESC, no doubt. Very smooth. Only gripe is that it refuses to run motors at lower RPMs, and thus it kinda jerks the car/truck on startup. The HV-110 was able to start motors at a lower RPM.

Hmm, I have not had an issue with it and an aveox 4 pole motor. i did have to increase the timing to mid, did you try this? Nothing else made any difference with startup except for this.

I don't recall which settings have been tried. However, these results were from both a 2pole KB45-10XL (1200kv) on 10s2p A123 in my XLB, and 4pole Medusa 36-80-1100 in my Savage on 8s Lipo. Both have been geared to ~45mph.
